Piglett my boys won't try to mount the pullets until they are ready to lay. If the girls aren't laying yet, that could be why you aren't seeing any action yet. Sometimes the younger boys will try with the pullets but the older roos put them in their place.
I can usually tell when they are getting close to laying because the boys take them around showing them good places for a nest for them.

well in another week or 2 if there is no sign of any "action" they will all be going into the new coop out back. at that time i mite just add the big buff boy who is in my meat pen. he is a year & 1/2 old & i know he has done "work" in the past.

maybe adding him will shake things up or maybe there will just be lots of missing rooster feathers scrhed:)

well i have some more roosters

they were priced rite ....FREE
some are all ready for camp while others still need to grow out bigger
one is a turken from last years chicks

my understanding is he is not so friendly with other roos & he is rough with the ladies so he will camp 1st
i also go some of thses long tail boys, they are kind of nice looking so i might keep 1

to keep my little silkies company

Not sure piglett but I think you're the only one on this site that show us pictures of your chickens then tell us when your going to eat them for your Philippine stew.

i think you might be rite :fmr:

however i make all of em an offer

"lay me an egg & you can live you your days rite here"

i have 1 that looks to have taken me up on that, i just have to start splitting them up to figure out who it was. i think it's one of the game birds, but maybe not.

i also show off my free roosters thinking "ya know someone might see one of these boys &just fall in love with him".

i think the going rate for "most" common roosters is only 5 bucks so anyone who wishes to buy one can head on over because i know i can go get another to replace him within a couple of days.
