My 5 week old chickens are outside in their coop/run area. They seem to love it outside. They never want to go in their coop though. I thought they would go in on their own to get out of the sun, and to take their dust baths in the coop's wood shavings bedding. But they don't, plus I have to round them up and catch them in the early evening to place them in the coop and lock them up for the night. Also, do I need to start giving them grit since they may eat something outside that needs grit for their digestion? They're still eatting the baggged chick food, but who knows what they might be eatting outside. Thanks. -Greg

They should start going in the coop soon for ya. I don't know what kind of ground is in your run, but they will pick up sand and things like that for grit so you should be ok.
